What we do

Electrical services across Sussex

Six services, grouped by the kind of problem they solve. Every one is available on the same emergency line, carried out to BS 7671, and finished with the certificate the job calls for. If you are not sure which you need, describe the symptom on the phone and we will point you at the right one.

If you own the property

Most homeowner calls start with a symptom rather than a service: the lights went out, the board keeps tripping, there is a smell of hot plastic. Describe what happened and we will tell you which of the six it is, and whether it needs tonight or Tuesday.

Beyond emergencies, the common work is a fuse board upgrade, an EICR before selling, and dedicated circuits for cars, kitchens and garden offices.

Emergency electrical

Answered by a person at any hour, with vans carrying the parts that finish most faults on the first visit.

24 hour emergency call-outs

Total or partial loss of power, burning smells, buzzing boards, melted sockets, water reaching wiring and exposed live parts. We talk you through making the installation safe while a van is on the way, isolate and repair on arrival where parts allow, and leave a certificate recording what was found and measured. If a job can safely wait until morning at a lower rate, we tell you that instead of selling you a midnight visit.

  • Answered 24/7, including bank holidays
  • 60 minute target in the core patch
  • Priced before a van moves

Fault finding and repairs

Tripping RCDs, dead sockets, flickering lights and the intermittent faults that never misbehave while somebody is watching. We work through continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop impedance and RCD timings until the cause is proved rather than guessed, then repair it and retest. The readings go on your certificate so the next electrician can see exactly what was measured.

  • Diagnosis by measurement, not guesswork
  • Most domestic faults traced in one visit
  • No second call-out for the same fault

The heart of the installation

Consumer units and protection

The cheapest place in any property to buy genuine safety, and the first thing an inspector looks at.

Modern consumer unit with individual RCBO protection

Fuse board and RCD upgrades

Replacing rewireable fuses, split load boards and plastic enclosures with a metal consumer unit and individual RCBOs, so one faulty appliance no longer takes out half the house. We test the wiring behind the board before quoting, check and upgrade main bonding, fit surge protection where it is worthwhile, and label every way by testing rather than guesswork.

  • RCBO protection on every circuit
  • Earthing and bonding checked and upgraded
  • Certificate plus Part P notification

Wiring and circuits

Rewiring, sockets and circuits

New cable where the old has reached the end, and dedicated circuits for the loads a modern home actually runs.

First fix cabling installed during a rewire

Rewiring and part rewires

Full and partial rewires for properties with rubber, lead or failing early PVC cable, and for lighting circuits that never had an earth. A rewire installs a proper set of circuits: upstairs and downstairs sockets, a kitchen ring, dedicated cooker, shower and EV charger circuits, split lighting, a boiler supply and interlinked smoke alarms.

  • Two to five days for most properties
  • Power back on every evening
  • Written scope agreed room by room

Paperwork that stands up

Testing and certification

Inspection and reports for homeowners, buyers, landlords and small commercial premises.

Test instrument connected to a distribution board

EICR and fixed wire testing

A full condition report on the fixed wiring: the consumer unit, earthing and bonding, a recorded sample of accessories, and the complete dead and live test sequence on every circuit. Every observation is coded C1, C2, C3 or FI and explained in plain English before we leave, with remedial work priced separately.

  • Every circuit reading recorded
  • Codes explained before we leave
  • Remedials quoted separately

Landlord safety certificates

Rented homes in England need a satisfactory EICR at least every five years and before a new tenancy. We work to the statutory dates: report to you and the tenant, remedial work inside 28 days, written confirmation of completion, and the reissued satisfactory report for your compliance file.

  • Access arranged with tenants
  • Remedials inside the 28 day window
  • Anniversaries tracked for you

One number for all of it

The same emergency line covers every service on this page. You are not passed between departments, and you are not asked to diagnose your own fault before anyone will speak to you.

Describe what happened. We will tell you whether it needs a van tonight, a booking on Tuesday, or nothing at all beyond switching something off and monitoring it.

Honest about urgency

Out of hours rates exist because working at 2am costs more, not because every fault needs it. If yours can wait until morning, we say so and you pay the daytime rate.
